20 years ago in a Notting Hill studio, Claire Pringle and Bayode Oduwole founded POKIT a craft based, design led and modern English brand.
Today the Pokit group is an off-radar alternative luxury house. Still independent and still under the creative dictatorship of Claire and Bayode our concepts have evolved into brands. Each of these brands has its own identity.
A Pokit suit is a reflection of mindset as much as it is about material, process and cut. You make a choice to look ‘right’ but not the same as everyone else. There is no whisky nor leather armchairs, technical jargon or gimmicks. When you come to Pokit for a bespoke suit you’re stepping into an experience where there is both the creative freedom of a designer’s atelier and strict tradition and craftsmanship of a tailoring workroom. We make deconstructed bespoke suits.
There’s more to a Pokit bag than meets the eye. They are sublime sculptural forms exquisitely made by craftsmen and they perform. Beneath their simplicity there is a design process which examines and respects the relationship between the material and the object.
Strong jeans are part of the DNA of the American West. In the serious world of heritage jean aficionados they ‘pass muster’ and are every part a real jean. But dare to have a sense of the heroic, the irreverent and a sense of humour. Seven Foot Cowboy jeans are made in Preston Lancashire from 15oz authentic Japanese indigo dyed denim.-
